At around 9000 feet in elevation, the trail at Grouse Mountain is not the highest in the state but when you get to the lookout and on a clear day can see for nearly one-hundred miles, it is definitely one of the more beautiful. Dotted with pines and a thick Aspen forest, you can see deer, elk, bear and mountain lions in this area though I’m glad to have not seen the latter two when on the trail…
